We had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday! It was AWESOME! The baby looks healthy and is moving around quite a bit. We were so amazed by how much you can see with the ultrasound. We saw the four chambers of the heart, the mid-line in the brain, the , the liver, blood flow going on in the baby's heart, all the fingers and toes, the spine and rib cage. It was really cool. The baby gave us a frontal view of his or her face at one point which was really weird. People say, the baby can look like an alien, and with that view, the baby did. We have an ultrasound picture to prove it.
The baby is only about 11oz. at this point. And the babies feet were over his or her head during most of the ultrasound.
TJ decided not knowing the sex of the baby is going to drive him absolutely nuts. Once we were looking at the baby, he was becoming so annoyed I wouldn't let him find out. He asked the nurse and she said she thinks she knows what the sex is, but wasn't too sure since she didn't spend too much time in that area. We are both trying to discover what that implies, but I am not nearly as curious as TJ is.
The baby's heart beat is 144. Anywhere between 125 and 160 is considered good from what the doctor said. Many people believe a faster heart beat means the baby is a girl.
144 is pretty much right in the middle...so good luck guessing everyone!

Now, baby and I are off to baking some Christmas cookies....yum!
