Baby's room!

Well, the baby's room is painted! Yeah! TJ has been working on it the last two weekends. The painting didn't take long, but all the trim work did, and he had to repaint the top half because the original color was too dark. I love how it turned out! Simple, neutral, and ready for furniture. We do have one lovely piece of furniture. Lesli and Tara sent our shower gift early. The rocking chair was very generous and I am sure we will build wonderful memories rocking our baby in it. When we do add furniture, curtains, and decorations, I am sure I will blog that too.
Can you tell we are a bit excited about the baby? I didn't think I would be into this blogging thing...but I am.
Please continue to keeps us in your thoughts and prayers for a healthy and happy baby.

30 Weeks on Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! Check out the BELLY!!!! I don't know experts out there, does this belly mean boy or girl? It just keeps growing and growing. My belly button has Popped too. It looks pretty funny. I was just looking back at previous postings and when I saw some of the first pictures we posted I couldn't believe the difference. I feel like the pregnancy is going by really fast. I cannot believe I will be 30 weeks pregnant on Monday. TJ says the last 10 weeks will seem like forever. I think it will be weird to not feel the baby kicking around in me once we deliver. However, I am sure I will be quite pre-occupied so that is okay.
TJ is still working on the baby's room. We had to repaint the top portion and have some finishing touches before we get furniture in there. I am so excited about it though.
My girlfriend Anne just had her second daughter and sent pictures. She is adorable and this has made me even more anxious to meet our baby.
Other than that, still no food cravings, except for a Shamrock Shake from McDonalds. I wait all year for those suckers. It is the only thing I have gotten from a McDonalds in like the last 12 years, but I love them! I think they came out today and this may be the first item I have to send TJ on a "run" to go get.

29 Weeks!
Here is a little belly comparison of TJ and I. Things are still going well. This weekend we were really busy switching furniture around and starting the baby's room. TJ and I finally bought "grown up" bedroom furniture. I love it! So, we set that up in our bedroom all day Saturday. After the bed was up and dressers in there place, it led to me going through many of our clothes and other closets in the house. I was really tired by the end of the night. We got up early on Sunday though to buy paint and "stuff" for the baby's room. TJ was working hard all day today. I feel really bad I can't help him paint, but I just don't think that would be good for the baby...sucking in paint fumes. We will post pictures of the nursery when it is finished.

People keep telling me I look like I have a basketball under my shirt. Looking at this picture...I believe them. It is so funny to look at myself being pregnant. Every day I am amazed. I really love being pregnant! Don't get me wrong, I definitely feel weird sometimes and bending over is not very comfortable, but I think it is really funny that I can rest my hands on my belly.
Things I also enjoy...Wearing pregnancy clothing, not feeling bad that I may have to wear the same pants twice during the week, eating more snacks, the fact that I laugh because I can't see my toes very well, how all my students now say hi to me and the baby in the morning, and most of all...feeling the baby move! He or she goes CRAZY at night when I lie down.
I must also admit, I am not the most interesting pregnant lady. I don't have many food cravings people talk about. In fact, the only thing I have craved more than once are oranges. I also want sushi right now quite badly, but it is not a feeling of I HAVE TO HAVE IT OR ELSE. As far as odd things going on in my own body, I have been quite fortunate. I really just have a hard time getting comfortable at night and I get severe leg cramps in the middle of the night. Other than that...no problems so far. I just keep praying we have a healthy and happy baby.

Week 28

Obviously, TJ created the most recent poll of who the baby will look like. I am not a big fan. OUR baby will NOT look like the mailman.
Our mailman is a woman anyway.

We have a recent request to update more often and include tidbits about my cravings, belly comparisons, and more interesting pregnancy oddities. So, I will update a picture soon, perhaps even a video. In the meantime, I will mention this...
*I was wearing a red sweater today and felt like a gigantic stuffed tomato.
*It is actually getting more difficult to breathe. I have heard of this and thought people were talking nonsense. But, like all the other pregnancy issues I have heard I will experience - I am now learning what it feels like to get out of breath... Extremely uncomfortable.
*I just drank 3 glasses of milk (2 were chocolate)
*I really crave cereal every morning - never used to eat breakfast
*I have been enjoying oranges recently
*The baby is kicking my stomach right now and I love that part of being pregnant.
*Sneezing can cause other issues when you are pregnant.
* My maternity outfits are already starting to get snug and I have 3 months to go...YIKES!
I do love being pregnant though!

So, that is all for today. We will see what tomorrow brings.

30 and PREGO!
Sad, but true, I turned 30 on Thursday. Ugh.
I woke up really excited it was my birthday because I always get like that on my birthday; however as the morning progressed, I became more and more crabby (all before 8am). I think it was sinking in that I was actually 30 years old. However, I quickly realized, I have so many blessings in my life and am extremely fortunate that I have a little one growing inside me and feel quite healthy.
The morning turned out really great too. As many of you know, I teach students in a self-contained classroom. I also have the privileged of working with some amazing woman in my classroom every day. They were so kind and surprised me with cake and cookies and a little party in the morning. TJ even surprised me by bringing donuts for the kids.
My students thought this was the best morning ever because I gave them cake and donuts at 10:00 in the morning. One student also keeps telling me, the baby is going to "hop" out. Wouldn't that be nice?
Anyway, 30 isn't so bad. I had a great weekend, went to a lovely dinner with TJ, and am so fortunate for all of my friends and family and our baby. I pray daily that the baby is healthy and continues to be throughout the pregnancy.
