Doctor's visit!

So we are now to the point that we are going on weekly visits to the doctor. How exciting! We went today to the doctor and everything is going really well. As large as I am, the doctor mentioned I am right on track- so that is encouraging to hear.
The doctor told us the baby is already in position. I was telling her I have no idea how people can tell where the head is and where the butt is when they are pregnant. I feel the baby's body, but I never know what end is what. Well, after the doctor took the heartbeat, she felt for the baby's head and she definitely felt it. TJ and I found this extremely exciting.
We are pretty much finished with the nursery. Our furniture was delivered over the weekend. It is so cute! I will post pics. soon with that.
I had so much fun on Sunday putting a bunch of baby stuff away and washing baby clothes and blankets. We can't wait for this little one to join our lives. We continue to feel so blessed and realize how fortunate we truly are.

Oh...weird things going on with the pregnancy...
I crave ice. Like, I really can't get enough. This has been going on for over a month now and seems so very odd to me. I wonder if this happens to a lot of pregnant woman. I am not sure if I like the crunch of ice or what, but I want it ALL the time.

I swallowed a watermelon

35 weeks pregnant and I am not sure if I can get much bigger. I look like I stuffed basketball under my shirt. The first picture is a birds-eye view, or rather "Katie's-eye view".
The other two pictures just look so funny. Although I look as though I stuffed an enormous ball or circular object under my shirt, it is really my belly. I have grown so big! It amazes me. I keep telling people, it is not as though I am eating ice cream every night or chowing down on things I crave (not that I really even have any cravings). However, I just keep growing. This baby is going to be a big one I think.
TJ and I have been enjoying our last few weeks together as a couple before our life is blessed by our baby. We are acutely aware that our lives will be forever different. While we are extremely excited, we are appreciating our time together before baby as well.
This weekend will keep us busy with finishing the nursery and I have started my Spring Break...YEAH!
Other big news for me...I am on my last class of my master's program and CANNOT WAIT to be finished! Unfortunately, I won't be completely finished before little LaDuca arrives, but close enough.

A Spring Weekend...Ahhhhh

This weekend was GORGEOUS! We had a busy weekend but were able to enjoy the wonderful weather today. We went to my parents house and hung out with the siblings and cousins.
I think the baby is saying hi to Melissa in this first picture. In the second picture, we were goofing around and TJ told me to kiss the baby...this is my attempt.

Look how beautiful the weather was today. It feels so good to not wear a jacket outside.

I was working on a paper last night and when I came down stairs...this is what I found. Bailey better enjoy it now, in 6 weeks I think someone else will be taking this spot. :) However, this is pretty cute isn't it?

The Parenting Class...

So, today TJ and I went to a "Becoming a Parent" class. We signed up months ago and were somewhat excited about going- at least I was. Well- it was a bit traumatizing.

I had such high hopes of learning about labor and breastfeeding and so on. However, I think I became more FREAKED out then relaxed about the whole process. In fact, I think TJ enjoyed the class more than me, I just got scared about what I will actually be going through in 7 short weeks. Watching a live birth may not have been the best decision on my part. Oh well, woman have done it before and if they can....so can I. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

B-lo Baby Shower

I thought we should post some pictures from our baby shower in Buffalo. We had such a wonderful time. We are so thankful for everyone coming to join us in celebrating our soon-to-be baby LaDuca. Cheryl and Aunt Nancy thank you for such a beautiful afternoon. The baby received wonderful gifts and many books. I can't wait to start reading to the baby!
Thank you to everyone who traveled so far to be with us.
Check out the cake--How cute is that?!
Also, I think Grandma and Grandpa LaDuca are a bit excited about the baby. They already got a nursery ready at their house. Don't you love the tree on the wall?

New hair, new pics.

This was a picture taken last week.

These pics. were taken today. 31 weeks. I cannot believe I am actually posting pictures of my bare belly, but I think it is really funny how very large I am. Seriously, can it stick out any more? TJ and I just keep laughing the more the belly grows. I am slightly uncomfortable lately, but as long as the baby is healthy- I don't care about the amount I am growing. Although- it almost looks like a plastic belly doesn't it?

Okay, so picture this one...
You know you are big when...
-it truly is difficult to bend over and put shoes on.
-you breathe heavily when shaving your legs
-your husband keeps looking at you and saying "WOW"
-and, you go to kneel at church, as you have done countless times in the past, however your knees are almost off the kneeler because your belly doesn't allow you to rest closely to the pew in front of you while kneeling. I think they need extensions on the kneelers. Do any other pregnant woman know what I am talking about? Now I know why some people don't feel comfortable kneeling and you see them half sitting on their pew/half kneeling- yup- that was me today.
Hmmmm...ice cream sounds good.
