just hanging out
My little boyfriend is 3 and 1/2 months already! He is practicing his GQ pose above. :)
Teddy is constantly moving. I do not remember this with Nora. He is ALWAYS kicking his legs, moving his arms and hands, it is madness! He drools like crazy too and will definitely be the baby that puts everything in his mouth! He is enjoying his little stander lately and babbles all the time! He is so much fun.
Teddy and Nora just hanging around. They seem to love each other to pieces. She is a protective older sister already and he is amazed at her and just loves to watch her.
Nora and daddy took advantage of the big, yet brief snowfall we had last weekend. TJ has been traveling a ton lately so it was perfect that we had snow on the weekend when he was home! Nora LOVED it! Teddy and I stayed warm inside and snuggled.
This little blue-eyed man loves sucking on his fingers. He is such a happy guy. He smiles all the time and I love his giggle. The sweetness of a baby giggle that comes from the belly is just the best!
The cold weather was getting to me. SO, I brought Nora's water table inside, filled it with rice, and she stayed busy, delighted-for a couple of days. It had to come down because Bailey tried to eat the rice every time we left the area.
We celebrated my birthday today. I could not be a luckier birthday lady. Two amazing and healthy children, a wonderful husband, and loving family and friends-pretty great!
Nora picked out the hat-had to take a picture.
But, I am the cheese ball that wanted to wear matching outfits. hahaha! However, when I ordered these I really didn't think they matched exactly, but aside from the buttons-they do. Oh well.
AHHHHH....to be a kid! I can't wait till next year when Nora and Teddy play together in the snow!

Teddy meets his aunts and uncle!
As I just mentioned in the previous post, TJ's sisters and brother in law came to town this weekend. We had so much fun and truly wish we all lived closer to each other. Teddy and Nora were spoiled with attention this weekend. Neither one minded of course.
By the way, our little man is growing by leaps and bounds. He is a beautiful blue eyed, giggly guy with rolls to spare.
He went in for his check-up yesterday and at almost 14 weeks old...
He weighs 17lbs! I know...big stuff! He is at the 97th percentile for weigh and height. YIKES!

Uncle Steve sort of takes all of Nora's attention when he is around. No one else stands a chance quite frankly. I swear, since Nora was about a year old, she has just adored her Uncle Steve. She made him a crown in preparation for his arrival. He wore it proudly.
We all went to the Children's Museum on Saturday. Nora was thrilled.
then, Nora learned how to have some girl time pampering with her aunts. So much more of this in her future I know it.

Teddy's baptism
We had a lovely weekend this past weekend for Teddy's baptism on 1/15/12.
T.J.'s sisters and brother in law flew in to meet Teddy and be a part of his first sacrament!
Aunt Tara is Teddy's Godmother and we couldn't be more lucky to have such a loving and caring woman to take on that role. She helped to get Teddy dressed for his big day.
Teddy wore the same gown as Nora. However, it was pretty "girlie". At the time we ordered it for Nora, we thought it would be totally fine for a girl or boy. But, admittedly, it had puffed sleeves. No worries, though, my mom boy-i-fied it.
Here is the picture of the gown and the jacket my mom made the day before to go with it. It was perfect! His little outfit for after the ceremony is next to the gown. I kept referring to the gown as a dress and TJ was not thrilled about that.
Teddy is all ready for his baptism! Nana made the little hat too. However, Teddy HATES hats so it lasted about 2 minutes on his head.

Teddy being baptized. The poor little guy cried during most of the event. He slept through the entire mass prior to the baptism. I had to wake him up so he could be blessed by the Deacon at which point he pooped and proceeded to cry the rest of the time due to a dirty diaper and hunger. I just feel bad for the 3 other families whose children were also being baptized.

My oldest brother Charlie is Teddy's Godfather. Teddy is one lucky little guy.

The whole group out to celebrate after Teddy's Baptism. We had such a wonderful day. Thank you so much everyone for making it so special. We really missed you Grandma and Papa.

So, it doesn't get much better than when you are putting your 2 1/2 year old to sleep and you give her a kiss and say "I love you" and she tells you..."I love you mom, God Bless You, one more kiss mom"

OUt of the mouths of babes.
I will post pictures soon, but had to add this today.
Conversation between Nora and I today...
Me: "Let's hurry up so we can go eat dinner"
Nora: "Mommy eat food, NOra eat food, Ted eat boobs"
Well, in the eyes of a two year old, she's correct I suppose.
And in regards to our little Teddy boy, he is my little love muffin. He is just a sweet little chunk and changing so much on a daily basis. He is giggling a ton and stuffing his fists in his mouth. He grasps for things in front of him, but is not rolling over quite yet. It may be due to all of his rolls. :)

structure
No pictures, just a post.
My work life is all about structure, structure, structure. I teach students with severe autism. I have gone to countless workshops about the importance of structure and routines. My class is actually called a "Structured Classroom". In the classroom-I've got it down. However, bedtime in the LaDuca house...it seems as though my structure is lost.
I feel as though I am constantly talking to my friends about sleeping issues with their children...how their children sleep, rituals their children may have, how long it takes for their children to fall asleep,etc. I have realized every family does what works for them. For us, I feel some nights "it" works, and other nights...NOPE.
There are times where we have had it down...read 3 books, say prayers, kisses and goodnight. Lately, however, we are beckoned to lay with her. Typically, I wouldn't mind. But TJ has been traveling, both kids have been sick, sleep schedule and nap times have been thrown off due to holidays, etc, and Teddy's bedtime does not yet coincide with Nora's. So, needless to say, things have been tricky.
I try to read the books, give kisses, and lovingly walk out or her room. But, I have the hardest time ignoring her pleads of..."momma lay with me".
There are many times where I wish I was much more disciplined about nap time and how I put the kids to bed, but when push comes to shove...all I want to do is snuggle with them.

Christmas 2011!
Merry Christmas 2011! I had to post a little bit of everything from this Christmas so I can remember and in the future, my children will have a little glimpse of the past. The best part of 2011 was welcoming Teddy to our family! He is such a good baby and precious little boy. We love you so much "Tedders"(which is what Nora calls him)
We had a few Christmas parties this year with friends which I posted already. The weekend before Christmas, my brother dressed as Santa for the museum his girlfriend works at. They had a bunch of activities for kids and Nora had a ball. She had no idea Santa was her uncle Tony.

And Nora enjoyed a little puppet show and story which was quite adorable I must say.
We opened presents with Uncle Steve and Aunt Tara on the 23rd via skype! They were so generous to Nora and Teddy. One present included a HUGE cardboard spaceship that Nora can color and decorate! Where are we going to put it you may ask...I have NO idea!
We spent Christmas Eve at my aunt's house which was really nice. Nora had a blast playing with her cousins and running around, singing on the Xbox thing, and getting another visit from Santa!
Oh yes...she also enjoyed holding the newest member of the Smith family...Sally, a 6 week old Golden Retriever. Look at that cute face!
Super excited Santa came to visit. (I wonder when TJ will be the lucky guy to dress up)
Teddy was extremely impressed with Santa as well. :)
Christmas morning was spent at our house and my parents joined us later for breakfast.
Nora loved her Disney princesses that Santa brought her.
Teddy thoroughly enjoyed hanging out and watching his big sister open all her presents and his. He is one big guy for 11 weeks old!
We went to Nana and Papa's house later that day as did all of my siblings.

Spending time opening gifts with the family. It was a pony themed Christmas this year for Nora.
Had to take a picture of the stockings my mom had hanging up. For the longest time there were only 4 stockings hanging and I have such wonderful memories of all those years. But, I love that there are 4 additional stockings now and our family is growing. My sister is married and my brothers have wonderful girlfriends all whom have a cute stocking hanging from the banister.
Grandma and papa came to town on the 26th! We had a quiet week filled with more Christmas excitement. They may hate me for posting this picture...but I think it is adorable!
