Teddy boy!

A little post about our big guy...

Teddy had his 4 month check-up on Wednesday. He is a big dude. He weighs 20lbs! He is off the charts with height and weight. He is such a cute little guy. He loves watching Nora. Teddy enjoys the following...
*His stander (he plays with all the gadgets on the top too)
*Putting everything you give him in his mouth
*Grabbing objects
*Rolling over (but only once and then we have to put him on his back again and he will roll again)
*Making noises (however, Teddy sounds more like a pterodactyl then a babbling baby) :)
*He loves to be rocked too. Typically I rock him to sleep for his naps. However, he only likes to face out and his head is up by my shoulder with my left arm under his butt and right arm cradling him)
*Teddy also seems to enjoy getting up every 2.5 hours! He has not slept longer than that unless he is in his cars seat. He slept 3 hours once in his car seat-big deal around here!

I asked the doctor about his sleeping and she mentioned that just might be how it is until about 6 months. So, we will see what happens in a couple of months.
It is fun to see how different Teddy and Nora are. I get sad thinking about watching my kids grow up so fast, but at the same time, I can't wait to see them play together.

Rock n' roll!

I am so thrilled to FINALLY say...TJ is done traveling!!!! At least till April anyway! Since Teddy was born, we have not yet been able to really get a "normal" routine down. We had holidays, visitors, weddings, and to top it off, TJ had been traveling a ton! Out of the past 9 weeks, he traveled for 7 of them. He was home Friday night till Sunday afternoon during those weeks. IT WAS BRUTAL! I know that is typical for some families, but not for us. We are all really happy that is over with. :)

Our little man is growing and growing. I truly cannot keep up with how fast he is outgrowing his clothes. He is rolling over now! He started that on Feb. 15th! He gets really annoyed once he is on his stomach but as soon as we put him on his back again....he rolls over again!
Teddy has been less fussy the last few months. I have stopped eating any type of dairy and Teddy seems grateful for change. He still has his moments though. :)
He is not sleeping through the night yet. In fact, this little guy is nowhere near sleeping through the night. He sleeps 3 hours at the most. But, I know it will change soon.
We all just adore him though. Nora can get him to laugh often which is really fun to see.

We took the kiddos to a concert today. Nora has seen Ralph's World 2 summers ago and we listen to the music all the time. (in fact, I cannot get the songs out of my head-ugh). Today, Ralph's World had a smaller show and we all had a blast. There was a cool "instrument petting zoo" prior to the show. Nora knew exactly what to do with this violin and I am not sure where she saw that. Ironic though, because we were just inquiring about violin lessons for toddlers. Nora joined a bunch of kids on stage at the end of the show.
We got a picture with Ralph too!

"TIME IT!"

Nora is a chatter box. She is getting to a stage where she really loves to pretend. She pretends with her stuffed animals often, Disney dolls, little critters, her brothers' Thomas and Percy toys, and often times, she will play with things we make.
We made little hearts to hang in the windows, and she started talking to them and calling them her friends. (should I be worried?)
I do LOVE watching her imagination grow, and playing right along with her!
Today, she had us laughing because of the following conversation...
Nora: "Oh, I'm sad" (she sat her self down on the stairs with a very long face and covered her eyes with her hands)
Me: "Nora, honey what's wrong, what happened?"
Nora: "TIME IT!" "Time IT!" "Horton tell Rora Time IT"
Me: "What?" "Do you mean Time out?"
Nora: "Yeah mom, Horton gave me a Time it"
Me: "oh, that isn't very nice, why?"
Nora: "All better now, Rora happy, Horton you happy?"

Obviously, Nora has not had many time outs. She doesn't really even know how to say it, which cracked me up. But, she gets the idea. We have actually never used the phrase "time out" with her. If she does something that deserves a little time away, we just tell her she needs to take a minute on the stairs. But, this must have quite an impact on her because now she is acting the whole thing out. And boy, it is quite a show.

Her latest thing is telling knock knock jokes which are somewhat amusing as well.
